Vivian Bercovici
Vivian Bercovici is a former Canadian Ambassador to Israel, a Toronto lawyer who transitioned to life in Tel Aviv, and is today the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of State of Tel Aviv.
A political junkie, she’s an avid reader, reluctant social media participant, lifelong swimmer, accomplished crafter, cook and aspiring fabric designer.
Bercovici’s professional journey has been marked by significant contributions to the field of international relations and a deep commitment to her editorial work.
She practiced law in Toronto while raising two daughters for 24 years. She earned a B.A. (Hon.) York University in 1984, post-graduate diploma in international relations from the London School of Economics in 1985, and her LLB from the University of Toronto in 1988.
I’m Vivian Bercovici, a former Canadian Ambassador to Israel who made the leap from being a Toronto lawyer to embracing the life and beauty of Tel Aviv. You’ll often find me juggling my roles as the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of State of Tel Aviv, doing what political junkies do, indulging in my love for outdoor sports, trying my hand at whipping up some delicious dishes, dreaming of making it big in fabric design and becoming a sommelier.
