Jane Barratt is a global expert in population ageing, public health, and social policy.
She served for over twenty years as Secretary-General of the International Federation on Ageing, where she worked with the World Health Organization, the United Nations, governments, industry, and civil society to shape global ageing agendas.
She has written and presented extensively on healthy ageing, ageism, long-term care, and life-course policy, and currently serves on international boards and expert committees advising WHO and global partners.
Trained in occupational therapy, medical sociology, and public health, Jane brings a practice-grounded perspective to policy and systems change. Her book shows how hope is built locally through community, culture, care, and everyday acts that resist disappearance.
