Sydney Druckman
Assistant Publisher
Sydney Druckman is an avid reader and writer with experience in editing, writing, and publishing. She has worked at several film production studios, most recently Team Downey, where she did script coverage.
She graduated from Chapman University with a BFA in Creative Writing and a minor in Media History.
She self-published her debut novella Taxi Service in 2020.
At Sutherland House Experts, Sydney helps oversee the publishing process from copyediting, typesetting, to cover design, as well as run Sutherland House Experts’ social media accounts.
Sheila Penton
Author Support & Operations Manager
Sheila Penton is a highly experienced Executive Assistant and operations specialist who has supported leaders and entrepreneurs since 2001. With a strong background in workflow optimization, strategic planning, and project coordination, she brings calm efficiency to every stage of the publishing process.
Sheila holds Executive Assistant and Administrative Assistant Certificates from Sheridan College, both awarded with honors. Since launching her own virtual executive assistant business in 2011.
She has helped clients across industries improve operations and make confident, informed decisions.
At Sutherland House Experts, Sheila manages internal systems and supports authors throughout their publishing journey, ensuring deadlines are met and nothing falls through the cracks. She’s passionate about creating a seamless, supportive experience for authors—so they can stay focused on their ideas and writing.
Sasha Stoltz
Publicist
With a background deeply rooted in the business community, publicist & executive producer Sasha Stoltz, comes with a “both feet on the ground” quality that her clients have come to depend on.
A respected member of Toronto’s publicity elite in the Film & Music industry, and a recent recipient of the Waterfront Award for Entrepreneurship and Business, Sasha has become the “go to” Publicist, able to “turn on a dime” whatever the budget.
Her personal touch to every detail & ability to stay calm & poised no matter the circumstance has earned Sasha the complete trust of her clients. Her ability to connect & hold on to relationships is key to her success. Garnering contacts across North America ensures her clients receive the exposure they deserve.
From a young age, Sasha was fully entrenched in several successful family-owned businesses. Sasha has worked the red carpets on both sides of the border, Juno Awards, Toronto International Film Fest, Canadian Screen Awards, Author Book Launches, US Daytime Emmys & NAACP Awards.

Dionne England is a published author with four books to her credit, uniquely positioned at the intersection of the creative and entrepreneurial spheres. She possesses a deep understanding of how to navigate both worlds, bridging the gap between artistic vision and strategic business acumen.
As a keen observer of emerging voices, Dionne actively identifies prospective authors with meaningful content poised to enrich global conversations. Beyond discovery, she leverages her expertise to collaboratively create robust business frameworks tailored to each author’s specific goals and aspirations. Dionne empowers authors not only to share their stories but also to build sustainable and impactful careers.
Mary Garofalo
Advising Editor
Mary Garofalo is an acclaimed investigative journalist and anchor known for her bold, impactful storytelling across top Canadian and U.S. news outlets. She’s reported for CITY-TV, WPIX-TV New York, and co-created 16×9 on Global Television. Her freelance work has appeared on ABC, CNN, and HLN.
Mary studied Journalism at the University of Western Ontario and Broadcast Journalism at Conestoga College. Her reporting has earned her seven Emmy Awards, a Canadian Gemini, and multiple Associated Press honors.
As an Advisory Editor at Sutherland House Experts, Mary seeks out compelling, original voices—especially stories that spotlight women’s health and empowerment. She’s excited to help authors shape their narratives and bring their important work to life.
Vanshik Patel
Marketing Specialist
Vanshik Patel is a marketing specialist with a practical background in digital content creation, brand strategy, and driving community engagement. With diverse experience across different spaces, he brings a dynamic approach to building and engaging with audiences.
He graduated in 2024 from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and studied abroad in Business Administration at Chung-Ang University in South Korea during his studies.
He has worked with a industrial real estate firm, a U.S tech development company, and volunteered with a pet-rescue charity, consistently delivering measurable digital growth.
Vanshik supports brand development for both Sutherland House Experts and its editorial partner EPS. He is passionate about amplifying and connecting author community voices together.
The Co-founders
Kenneth Whyte
Kenneth Whyte is co-founder of Sutherland House Experts, and President of Sutherland House Books, which he founded in 2017. He was editor-in-chief of Saturday Night Magazine, founding editor of The National Post, editor and publisher of Maclean’s, president of Rogers Publishing, and founding president of Next Issue Canada.
He is the author of many acclaimed international works, including The Sack of Detroit: General Motors and the End of American Enterprise and The Uncrowned King: The Sensational Rise of William Randolph Hearst.
Neil Seeman
Neil Seeman is co-founder and Publisher at Sutherland House Experts, an Internet and social impact entrepreneur, author, educator, lawyer, philanthropist, and public health researcher. Neil teaches creative writing at the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto, and is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and a Fellow of the Fields Institute, the Investigative Journalism Bureau, Massey College, and the HIVE Lab.
Neil is the co-author of several books on mental health, including XXL: Obesity and the Limits of Shame (University of Toronto Press). He is the author, most recently, of Accelerated Minds: Unlocking the Fascinating, Inspiring, and Often Destructive Impulses that Drive the Entrepreneurial Brain (Sutherland House).
Ken and Neil first worked together during the launch of The National Post, in 1998; Ken served as founding editor-in-chief and Neil was a founding member of the newspaper’s editorial board.
Sutherland House Experts enjoys an independent editorial advisory board to provide insights and advice to the CEO. Members of the SH Experts advisory board are interdisciplinarian polymaths, and include: mathematician and numbers theorist V. Kumar Murty, global health leader James (Jim) Lavery, machine learning expert Zahra Shakeri, policy scholar and bioethicist Eric M. Meslin, military historian Eric McGeer, and systems thinking pioneer Diane T. Finegood.
